What to do about a skunk who lives in the yard?

There is a big fat skunk who lives in my yard, or I've seen him waddling about in the driveway. He releases his odor almost nightly, which is awful since it is so hot, nighttime is the only time it cools down an I like to open the windows.What to do about a skunk who lives in the yard?

They will usually only spray in defense..so there must be a dog or other animal harassing it. Make sure you do not have any food or water sources in your yard to attract it. Also pick up wood piles or other debris that may provide a hiding place or shelter for the skunk. It is best to just leave the skunk alone and it will leave you alone.
Get a Opossum. Opossums hate skunks and attack them on sight. Then get a Racoon. Opossums hate Racoons. Then get a dog Racoons hate them. Problem solved or just get a dog and alot of Tomato Juice to eliminate the sprayed dog.





On a serious note, if you live in town the easiest thing to do is call animal control and they will either relocate it or tell you who you can call to do it for a small fee. I had a baby deer one time I had to send somewhere and they helped me locate a place where it could be raised and taken care of.
Call the animal control like someone said, it's the best thing. Is it a free service in America?





The dude are not suppose to live in human residential area. Chasing it away may actually throw the problem to your neighbours instead of solving it.

Once that skunk fart at you then you might smell for three days or longer you don't want that and try call the animals controller. If your animals controller arrive and my advice you to close all the windows.
I agree with edoedo. call the animal control right away
a $0.02 bullet from a .22 should get rid of that problem...just bag the body and either bury or toss in a dumpster. You can even silence it if your neighbors might get upset...just don't get caught or you'll likely be sent to prison(for the silencer, not sure about the skunk)
I would think it was so cool to have a skunk living in my yard, I wouldnt do anything but let him stay.
kill it n dispose of it. or call like animal control
