How do you get rid of a skunk?

We live in the country and have a skunk hanging around, I have not seen him, but he sprayed one of my dogs 2 weeks ago, and every time we have the windows open, our house reeks of stupid skunk..how do I get rid of it?How do you get rid of a skunk?

Skunks are scavengers. Don't leave dog food, trash in bags, rotting fruit or veggies from your garden outside. The skunk is coming for something. Be it food or water (if it is currently dry in your area). Don't give the skunk what he/she is looking for.





Time is the best cure for the smell of skunk on your property. On your dog, a good de-greasing shampoo helps. But, once the skunk smell has set into the porous fur of your dog, only time will get it out.

give you a phone number to the local wildlife abatement office. They'll give you a trap to catch them with. Use small chunks of apples covered in peanut butter. You may catch a few other animals first


like squirrels or racoons but they learn quick. When and if you do get this trap dont set it anywhere near a building of yours, they will spray as soon as they get caugth. If you do catch one have a old blanket handy to cover the trap when the public servent comes to pick up the trap....been there and done that!!!!

Give that motherf*cker rat poison! Skunks eat anything. It is said that they are like rats because they love to eat garbage. So gather some leftover food and lace it with Ricin or cyanide or rat poison. Kill those stinking bastards! I would prefer a .44 magnum or a blowtorch if I ever see them face to face.

trap it. contact local wildlife sanctuaries about renting a trap. then releases far away from your property.when i was kid we had them under our porch.
