How do you get rid of skunk smell on animals???

My cat was sprayed in the eyes and we need to find a way quickly to clean him off!!!!How do you get rid of skunk smell on animals???
Ohhh in the eyes? Use a saline solution like Just like tears kind of stuff. NOT Visine!! You will want to thoroughly flush the eyes many times. You may have to visit the vet tomorrow because it can be really harmful to the eyes. Since its on the face you can only use tear free shampoo, they sell skunk shampoo in the pet stores but I don't know that they are ok to use near the eyes. For right now just flush the eyes and use a tear free shampoo. How do you get rid of skunk smell on animals???
Brianna T's answer is great. You should purchase a few cans of store brand tomato juice, just in case. It's cheap and stays on the shelf. It's worth it if you have a pet and live around skunks. The dogs and cats always get it in the face!
try vineger, water and baking soda and wash the cat down. Dont get it in the cats eyes.
Probably the same as you do for a dog, but be careful of the eyes. I use tomato juice, but if not handy, vinegar and water.

wash around the eye area carefully, the vet could probably recommend eye drops so it doesn't get infected.
This was on mythbusters........and also from personal experience, tomatoe juice works great.
Give your cat a bath with tomato juice. Gets oder off of animals and I think humans also.

But your situation calls for vet help because of the eyes. Or call the vet and ask his advise. He may be able to help you over the phone. He'd probably prefer it that way anyway because of the oder.

You could try flushing the eye's with warm water. I'm just guessing here of course. Vet may be able to tell you what to use.

Good Luck .............. Plug your nose!
not sure about the eyes but bath in tomato juice. Might have to call a vet hot-line to ask about the eyes ... or one of the snappy vet techs here will know. Good luck
well as hard as it might be, it is still best with tomatos. Cats aren't as easy to deal with as dogs are when this happens but it will get rid of the smell.
soke in tomatoe sauce
