How do you get rid of the smell if your dog has been sprayed by a skunk?

I've tried everything I can think of. Tomato juice; someone suggested peroxide and baking soda. Nothing I've tried has worked. I even sprayed her with doggie perfume, and she still smells like skunk. How do you get rid of the smell if your dog has been sprayed by a skunk?
My dog is one of those that is always getting himself messed up with those smelly things too...I've used a couple different things...I tried the tomato juice thing and that lasted about a day and then he smelled again...So I was told to use Vinegar...The dark works better than the clear...It'll make him smell pickled afterwards but anything is better than skunk...Another thing you can use and this is going to sound VERY strange, but use a Douche...It doesn't have to be a scented one, or anything like that, but give your dog a bath in that and that'll work like a charm too...Either one of those will work...How do you get rid of the smell if your dog has been sprayed by a skunk?
tomato juice helps dull the smell but doesn't completely get rid of it. I agree with the girl who said Nature's Miracle. They do make products for skunk smell. I have never used it but their other products are terrific. You can buy it at Petsmart or Petco
mix water, baking soda, white vinegar and dawn dish liquid

we had a skunk pee under our trailer and game commission gave me that... took a couple times of washing but it worked
wash with vinegar
hi our dog got sprayed about a week ago we tried the tomatoe juice and it helped some but then i found another concoction if you will it was one small bottle of peroxide one half cup of baking soda and abot a half a cup of dish soap. we just kept rubbing it in and then we let it set for about five minutes and it worked like a charm also worked on clothes he had rubbed on. hope it works for you.
Tomato juice will help temporarily. Eventually it will will wear off.
tomato soup
Nature's Miracle makes a product to get rid of skunk smell. I have never needed to try it, but their other products work so well, that one probably does too. I could not live without Nature's Miracle to get rid of pet urine odor and stains. It really does work like a miracle. I ordered a very expensive area rug from a mail order company and when it arrived, it smelled like cat pee. I don't know if it really was cat pee or if it was just some chemical in the rug, but I sprayed it down with the Nature's Miracle and hung it outside to dry and it has no smell at all now. You can buy it at Pet Smart or on their website...Good luck.
Try Ozium air freshener. Buy it at Walgreens
tons of tomato juice, its the only thing that works
Try a douche. I know. It might sound weird but that's what they suggested on the radio and the person said it worked really great.
Deskunking recipe given to us by our obedience trainer:

1 quart 3% Hydrogen Peroxide

1/4 cup Baking Soda

1 quart water

2 tsp. Palmolive liquid or Softsoap or Ivory liquid (DO NOT use DAWN as it is so efficient it breaks down the hydrogen peroxide and it can't work effectively)

Wet the dog's coat first with slightly warm water. Then sponge the mixture onto the coat and suds it in well. Leave on for at least 5 minutes. Rinse with warm water. You may have to reapply. KEEP OUT OF DOG'S EYES, AS THIS STINGS!

Also, DO NOT STORE THIS MIXTURE, AS IT WILL EXPLODE! Pour it down your drain when finished with it.

Good luck with deskunking! This worked great on a stray we took in recently that had been sprayed right before we got her.
mud. lots of mud. just water and dirt. coat your dog heavily and it does work. Lots of mud. leave it on til it dries. wash then do it again till the smell goes away

takes several tries, but it works.
