How do you get rid of skunk smell?

A skunk got under my tailer and sprayed land now it is all over my house. I know you can use tomato juice for your body but it is in my furniture, carpet, clothes, etc... Everything! What can I do other than try washing everything?How do you get rid of skunk smell?
Odorxit will work, I've used it on: Myself, the dog, the couch, the bed, the carpet, and the floor. I didn't grab the dog in time and he spread it everywhere. Baking odor absorbs skunk spray but not the odor, tomato juice works, but turns things red, peroxide bleaches things, enzyme solutions sometimes work but it will always take days, vinegar masks the odor, massengill is as good as soap and water, which is mediocre. Skunk sticks to everything if you don't chemically alter the substance, it will hang out for a while. Make sure the skunk just sprayed and didn't move in under the house. If you have any holes around the skirt, place some sticks across the front of the hole so the skunk will have to move them to get in or out. If the sticks move, it has become a resident. Step1


Mix about a quart hydrogen peroxide with about a 1/4 cup baking soda to make a thick paste. Rub it onto your skin or your pet's skin and bath immediately. If you're trying to get the skunk smell from furniture or carpet, try vinegar rather than hydrogen peroxide, since peroxide can bleach fabrics. You may need to repeat this several times to get rid of the smell. You can also add 1 tsp. liquid soap to make the mixture easier to spread.

Rub baking soda into your pet's skin or into carpeting and furniture. Vacuum or rinse away to get rid of the smell.





Step3


Use Skunk-off, a chemical product available at most stores. Febreze is also effective for furniture and carpets, especially if you just tracked in a little bit of smell on shoes or clothing.





Step4


Combine 1 part bleach with 9 parts water for areas like garages and porches that won't be stained by the bleach.





Step5


Take any skunk smell clothes to a dry cleaner to ensure the smell is gone. You can try washing them (and only them) in your clothes machine, but expect to have to wash them several times to have any chance at getting rid of the smell.

Skunk Smell Remover 1 quart 3% Hydrogen Peroxide


1/4 cup Baking Soda


2 tbsp Dish Detergent. The stuff for washing dishes in the sink, not something for dishwashers.


Mix the ingredients in a large bowl, because it will boil up like Vesuvius. We are, after all, making an oxygen generator. Wash the dog with this while it is still foaming, because it is the oxygen which reacts with the thiols in the skunk stink to neutralize the odor. If it sits around, it will loose it's efficacy because the oxygen boils off. Don't try to store it in an airtight container, because it will blow up. The brew also works for clothes, humans and unlucky cats.





also for the skunk place mothballs or ammonia around your trailer.
