How best to remove skunk spray from a dog that got sprayed?

I have a beagle who got sprayed this morning when the dog took off for a run in the woods. How best to clean the dog TO GET THE STUNK OFF?How best to remove skunk spray from a dog that got sprayed?
Tomato juice works. Leave the tomato juice on the dog for as long as you can, the longer you leave it the better it works. Beagles are small and have short hair, so you'll probably only have to do it once unlike when my aunt's Golden Retriever got sprayed and I had to wash him three times (at least I got paid for it).How best to remove skunk spray from a dog that got sprayed?
Tomato juice is fairly cheap and gets that stink right off.
Tomato juice doesn't do a thing except make them smell like skunky tomato juice.

There's a product called ';Nature's Miracle'; at Petsmart that works brilliantly. Cheap too, maybe $10 for a huge bottle.
tomato juice will work.
If the tomato juice doesn't work, here is another method that I found.
Recipe #1:

1 quart 3% Hydrogen Peroxide

1/4 cup Baking Soda

1 teaspoon liquid soap

Mix in a bucket (it will fizz).

Soak your dog's fur, but be careful not to get any in his eyes.

Use a sponge to clean off his head and around his eyes.

Knead solution into the fur and be sure to get every part of him with it.

Rinse thoroughly.

Recipe #2:

1 cup of vinegar

1 cup hydrogen peroxide

1 cup of dish soap

Lather WELL, add water until a good thick coat of lather is worked up and let sit for 10 minutes.

Rinse well, followed by 1/2 cup of vinegar in 1 gallon of water to rinse and leave on.

Recipe #3:

1 pint hydrogen peroxide

2/3 cup baking soda

1 tablespoon of citrus-based liquid soap

Sponge mixture onto the dog's fur.

Let sit two to five minutes then rinse with plain water.

Second batch may be needed. Use fresh ingredients.
You can get skunk stink remover at a pet supply store. You can also use tomato soup, but be sure to rinse it completely because it is acid and will irritate his skin if any of it remains.
Tomato juice. And lots of it...Good luck!
My dogs get skunked regularly we live in the country and my dog hunt.

The following is the best stuff I have found to get the stink out.

Use two bottles of hydrogen peroxide

1/4 cup baking soda

1 squirt of liquid dish soap

Mix in a bucket sponge on dog let stay on for 10-15 mintues

Rinse well with plain water.

This works much better than anything tomato I have tried.

I keep this stuff in the cabinet as my dogs run into a skunk about every other month or three.
I've heard that bathing him in tomato juice will work. You may need to soak him in it. :)

If that doesn't work, there are a few products that you may be able to get from your vet. I know of a product called Thiotrol that works really well for removing odors. We use it at an animal hospital I work for.
most vets have shampoo for skunk spray i hope that helped.
if theres a way rub your dog im tomato sauce and rince that works on people so it should on dogs too
The Baking Soda, Peroxide, And Dish Soap works
well i have two dogs and they have gotten sprayed by a skunk multipe time you have to get tomato sauce in HUGE containers and you might want two of them, then you get a hose and with your hands, get a hnadful;l of tomato sauce and rub it into your dogs fur EVERYWHERE!!!then after the whole dogs body is covered, then wait for like 5 minutes then wash it off with a hose and then repeat if you have to caause the smell doesnt come off immediately!!!
NEVER use peroxide to bath your dog. Even if using it to clean a wound, it must be diluted. I had a great dane that was sprayed by a skunk. First I tried the tomato juice %26amp; nothing. Then I tried vinegar %26amp; nothing. Then I tried dish soap %26amp; it was a little better. After all of this, he still smelled pretty bad. Also, don't waste your money on the stuff at the petstores, it doesn't work (tried that too.) My poor dog. Finally, I used Mane %26amp; Tail horse shampoo. It covered up some of the smell, at least to the point that you could only smell it if you put your nose close to the dog. The only thing that took the smell out completely was time.
mythbuster guys on the discovery channel said that tomato sauce works the best.
Douse it is flat Coca Cola.. Let it dry and tomorrow bath the dog. Smell will be gone. I had 2 girls that were sprayed, and it worked like a charm!
well i heard that if you use tomato sauce it works
Do not use vinegar or tommatoe juice. If you look on the internet there are some simple ingrediants that can help, such as peroxide.
