How do you get rid of a skunk that repeatedly sprays near your house?

Every night for the past 12 days, a skunk has sprayed near my house. It seems like it is coming from under my neighbor's porch. Who do I call to get rid of this creature (an exterminator? a wildlife expert? a trapper?)? I can't stand it any more!

Do not kill it as suggested...skunks will spray stench when dying.


In my area calling the animal control will do it, but you have to pay for the removal. Hopefully you will be able to have this done for nothing in your area. If you are charged for the removal service, maybe your neighbours will split the cost. Give them a call and see what they think.


We have live trapped a skunk once..it worked, but was rather scary when relocating. Once trapped we threw a blanket over the trap and waited..then relocated while still covered. We were lucky and no one got sprayed. This time we are going to pay someone else to do it..we have another one here that our dog met up with a couple of weeks ago..yucky!How do you get rid of a skunk that repeatedly sprays near your house?
Try calling your local animal control department. If they don't take care of these things in your area, they should be able to tell you who to call.
